The number of people working in Switzerland is on the rise. Meanwhile, part-time work is much more widespread in Switzerland than in the rest of Europe.

In my opinion, Switzerland and generally Europe, has one of the best labor systems applied in working time (time in porcent and skills required), but even so, each citizen dedicates its working day according to his available time capacity, that does not mean that about time for other things and even, always assume that you will lack time.

For this reason, in reference to the current circumstances that occur with COVID-19, have labor provisions for office workers become favorable or negative? possibly we will know it in a period of 30 days at least that this situation would last for many, but if it were to spread; the statistics would be more appreciable in comparison of results.

But how do you think the situation is currently reacting?

From my point of view, I have been able to analyze the following:

People working in office waste up to 90 minutes of time (in average, but probably more), driving the car or taking the bus, parking the car, dialing attendance, turning on their computer, etc …

The productivity benefit can be converted in favor of both, both for the worker and for the company, since the good worker will know the results that the company needs to maintain its work independently and on the other hand, the company guarantees an adequate work environment and can implement better results policies based on previous years and / or on current situations that company is through.

Particularly I can live that experience now that my wife works at home and I can visualize that she ends up being more effective for her company because she does not need all the unnecessary time to prepare and go to work, on the contrary, she goes directly to her home office very early to attend to her affairs (approximately at 6 am) and after having worked for approximately an hour or an hour and a half, she takes a short break to have breakfast with us (her children and her husband) and after 30 minutes she go back to her home office.

This is just a small example, but since we share the same office, we can also talk about labor issues that make us understand each other’s work better.

I always work from home, the good thing is that my wife works only fifty percent and I have time to attend to my business affairs, but since 2020 two days a week I travel to downtown San Gale where I share a workspace with other entrepreneurs Swiss.

Home Office Work from time to time should be stipulated in companies as an option if the results remain the same or better. It would help a lot to the environment and the time that the person can be connected better with its family.

For the future, I know that you can work a little at home (a little, not all the time, of course, I know the importance of disconnecting from your house also to get the best results from your business) with this system we could probably contribute to saving the planet and in some cases, maybe even save its own family relationship.
